It should be noted that the Amherst Skating Club has only a few paid employees including a Skating Director (Stacy Petri) and a part-time Office Assistant .
Please consider joining us, in whatever capacity you are comfortable in. Amherst Skating Club is a CLUB, not a service.
The following is a list and brief description of the many volunteer committees at ASC. Although some of the committees already have Chairpersons, we need people to assist the Chairpersons. To volunteer, click the link shown below to download the Volunteer Sign-Up Form and return the completed form to the ASC office.
Collect photos, newspaper articles, and club history. Put info into scrapbooks.
Order awards and engraving of plaques, presents awards during competitons.
Order ASC club logo apparel for resale to members.
Share figure skating knowledge and inform club members of rules, etiquette and new information in the skating world.
Provide oversight and council to ASC treasurer and ASC Board.
Order and set up food/drink for test sessions and Amherst Invitational.
Meet with Pepsi Center administration to set up ice schedule for all ASC ice.
Advise Junior Board and guide activities such as: Holiday Party, Skate Sale and fundraising events.
Maintain ASC membership roster for USFS.
Schedule and train ice monitors for every session.
Write and print quarterly ASC newsletter.
Coordinate off-ice workouts with Proformance Sports for ASC group classes.
Distribute information from Synchro coaches to Synchro families. Inform ASC Board of Synchro coach's decisions & competition choices.
Provide information to local media re: competitions, shows, and advertising.
Volunteers needed to assist Director with program, support and planning.
Show Chairs organize committees to run this event. Committees: Decorations, Announcing, Convening, Program Book, Skater Registration, etc.
Assist Test Chair prior to or during test sessions.
ASC web site maintenance.
